Who We Are
Artemis Africa is a non-governmental organization (NGO) under Congolese law, registered under F.92/55.283 with the Ministry of Justice of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and also operating in Rwanda where it is registered as a private limited company under number 132547276.
Founded and led since September 2021 by Cédric-Dubois Muliri, a Congolese biologist and conservationist, Artemis Africa develops integrated solutions to protect the forest biodiversity of the Congo Basin while improving the livelihoods of local communities living in conflict-affected areas.


Our mission
To raise human awareness of the benefits that nature provides through its biodiversity and to take action for its protection.
Artemis Africa is committed to producing and applying rigorous scientific knowledge to guide the management and protection of critical species and ecosystems in the Congo Basin, while developing sustainable and inclusive local economic solutions that turn conservation into tangible opportunities for communities, particularly indigenous peoples, youth, and women.

Cédric-Dubois MULIRI
FoUNDER & EXECUTIVE DirectOR
A Conservation Biologist with a dual master’s degree in Biology and Conservation, Dubois coordinates all activities of Artemis Africa. A member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas and the British Ecological Society, his research on threatened species in the Congo Basin has been covered by The Guardian, France 24, and the documentary “Terres d’Urgence”. He is currently collaborating with the University of Copenhagen on new ecological wildlife monitoring techniques.


Rita MPINGANZIMA
COUNTRY DirectOR - RWANDA
CEO and multilingual guide of Big Cat Safaris, Rita holds a degree in Tourism Management. At Artemis Africa, she oversees conservation and community awareness programmes in Rwanda, facilitates local and international partnerships, and ensures the integration of responsible ecotourism initiatives. Her expertise effectively connects biodiversity protection with sustainable development.


David M. MUZUSANGABO
Technical Coordinator
A Congolese agronomist, graduated from Université Catholique de Bukavu and holding a master’s degree in Protected Area Management from Senghor University (Egypt). With over seven years of experience at the Wildlife Conservation Society and SOS Children’s Villages, and as founder of AGROAFRIKA, David coordinates Artemis Africa’s technical activities in Rwanda and ensures the scientific quality of our research.


Boniface D. DIZOUNE
Community Mobilizer
A rural development engineer trained at Université de Sarh (Chad), Dizoune has over 13 years of experience in Central and Sahelian Africa. He manages the logistical coordination of field activities, resource management, and community mobilization, playing a central role in organizing missions and monitoring actions related to conservation and sustainable development.
